Wow, I've been so caught up recently with work that I have not been able to update you all with my goodies. I do have a valid reason really and I hope I have not lost you foodie friends. Recently, I've been handed over with some new tasks and I really got to pull up my socks and clear most of it off since I'll be heading off to San Francisco this coming November.
And for what reason you might ask? Well, I'm so terribly excited as I will be attending the Foodbuzz Food Blogging Festival which is happening next month, or to be exact next week Friday, November 4th, 2011. Woooo hoooooo.. Yep peeps, I'll be flying in. So if any of you are going, lets make a date or mark it down. Make sure to give me a holler down over at my comment area. We really ought to meet, greet and chat.
Now back to this Oreo Overload Cheesecake. I made this cake over the weekend to celebrate my sister in-law's birthday. I knew she and my brother loves oreo so I asked her what cake would she like. She mentioned that she likes cheese cake. Instead of the regular cheesecake, I decided to make her favourite cake combining it with her favourite cookie.

Why is it Oreo Overload? It's because every single bite you get, you will get to taste the oreo bits. So no fighting there ;P. Everyone gets equal parts love from Oreo. This cake is super simple to make, very minimal washing up, it's light, melts in the mouth and packed with Oreo flavour. No twisting and dunking here, but maybe just some licking?
xx
I wish I could go and meet everyone! I’m flying in as well but not till beginning January. So maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteYou are soooo sweet for making this cake for your sister in law. I bet she was blown away! Oreo, oreo and nothing but oreo. What’s not to love =)
Happy birthday to your sister in law! This cheesecake looks so packed with those delicious oreos...yum! I wish I was there to have a slice.
ReplyDeleteYes, the festival date is getting closer, lucky you to be able to attend! I would be excited too, a very worthwhile event no doubt.
We always have Oreos in our pantry...and they have to be Double-Stuff. The only way I like them is in desserts...and your spectacular cheesecake is truly a winner! Just gorgeous...and I know it's creamy and delicious! Have a blast at the Foodbuzz Festival!!! xo
ReplyDeleteThis looks delicious. I love it! Have fun at the Foodbuzz Festival :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be there to greet you! It is so much fun, you are going to have a great time, don't forget to throw a pair of stretchy pants in your bag, you will be eating a lot, he he. Divine looking cheesecake.

ReplyDeleteO. M. G!! This is an overload in the best kind of way :D Have fun at the festival!
ReplyDeleteI am SO excited that you're attending the festival this year - I wish I was going with you! Have a GREAT time! (and the cheesecake is absolutely stunning!)
ReplyDeleteJo you always impress me with your goodies! This cheesecake looks spectacular... I truly appreciate that every bite has oreos in it. I wish I was going to the Foodbuzz Festival... take lots of pics and have so much fun! Tell us all about it too when you get back please :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jo-there could never be an "overload" on Oreos!
ReplyDeleteOreos Cheesecake...a match, made in heaven!
I am totally drooling over this superb yummy cake...I cannot trust myself with a box of oreos...yet, alone making a cheesecake out of it. The Oreo cookies would be all gone, by the time I would get to the cheesecake production....he, he, I'm the wrong candidate for making this!
BTW-I'm so glad that you're so excited about the Foodbuzz Festival...I suppose I should be too, since I'm going too, AND will be meeting up with you...it's too soon for me for the excitement. I'm a "last minute" person to actually "see it, to believe it!" Still can't believe I'm actually going, and for sure will meet up with Gina, as well:DDD...Yeayyyy, too much to think about, right now!
Big huggssss!!!
Hi Lily! aww.. next time indeed. Who knows we might just have the chance to meet up. If you do decide to pop by KL give me a buzz. Will me more than happy to meet and greet. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina! I'll make sure to let her know ;). Plus I'll do my level best to snap as many photos I can to share tem all with you. Cheers..
ReplyDeleteHey Lizzy.. Double cream oreos are the best.. I don't think it will safely make it to the cake cause I would have started to dunk them in milk and have them all to myself. Thanks Lizzy, perhaps next time we might have the chance to meet up. I'll be meeting Elisabeth and Gina. Can't wait indeed.. xoxo
ReplyDeleteJenn: Thanks for buzzing me over at my blog. If you love oreo and cheese, this is something to try out too... sinful I know, but once a while is okay ;).
ReplyDeleteGina: Hoorah! I can't wait to finally meet you in person too. I'm just getting more excited day after day.
Stephanie: There's always next time. Hopefully by then I am able to go again or maybe for another holiday.
