I admit, I've been a little crazy over Oreo cookies recently. Not going to be twisting, licking and dunking them in milk. Instead I added them into my craziest version of Oreo BerryLicious Ice-Cream. I know over in the States that summer is coming to an end soon and Fall is just around the corner.
However, that does not mean that you can't make this lovely cool treat and stash it in your freezer? I think this is the best time ever to use all the berries you can get. I had a mixture of berries, from blueberry, strawberry, raspberry to blackberry. So I thought it would be fun for a change to whip up some cool dessert.

Let me clear this though, I don't have an ice-cream machine to churn my ice-cream. So for myself, I had a lot of work up my sleeves. Can you imagine me running back and forth from the freezer to my Kitchen Aid mixer and then back to the freezer to freeze my ice-cream? I'm not complaining, because at the end I get to have a lovely scoop of creamy smooth Berrylicious ice cream with some Oreo bites in them. Yummmmmm...
Enjoy Chic & Gorgeous Treats new look; currently work in progress.. and have a great week everyone!!
xx
Beeyooteeful!!! Love the color! That is so going to top9. I'm into turning everything into ice cream lately and have a bunch of berries left ... some weird amounts that can't made into any jam, unless I dump them all together but this looks way more tempting and with my favorite cookie in it too! Can't wait to try this out. Would you mind if I posted it on my blog and link it back to you? Oh, I don't have an ice cream maker either ... it's all aunty-powered!
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteJoanna - the ice cream looks amazing and WOW! Look at your site? FAB-ULOUS, girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteThat is some pretty-looking ice cream! I don't have an ice cream maker either, but it looks like you pulled this off pretty well without one!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing recipe! I love the chocolate and berry combination and don't think I've ever had an Oreo dessert that wasn't fantastic :) Good thinking!
ReplyDeletePing: Hahahah...so happy to read that you think it deserves to be in Top 9. Well we will just have to wait and see what the editors have to say then. Hahahha.. Hmm, I hope it turns out well for you too.. I have no skill in making ice-cream. Just go with feel and gut. Is that even allowed in cooking? Hope so..
ReplyDeleteKim Bee: Thanks for stopping by.. always happy to hear from you.
Ann: I am loving the new look of my website too, though it's still in working progress. I can't wait to see the end product too.
Stephanie: I was thinking to myself that it's time for me to get an ice-cream add on. I have been dreaming of David Lebovitz Ice-Cream book. Really want to get my hands on that book.. >.< I feel nothing beats homemade ice-cream.
Baking Serendipity: I think berries and oreo can be another great couple.. Just like peanut butter and chocolate.. Can't wait to do more right now.. Have a great week.
Will be popping by to see you all soon!!! xoxo
You're crazy Jo!
ReplyDeleteYou're mixing 2 of my childhood fave icecream together!
(Smiling like a little kid with a huge candy... drooling... right now).
What a wonderful ice cream flavor this is-oreos and berries! It looks so colorful. Glad you posted this-bookmarked. Well Done!
ReplyDeleteHey Pierre! You're back? How's your trip? Hahahaha.. Me crazy? No no no ... just Okay..that is a lot of questions at one go. Looks like I have triggered your inner childhood. Oreo and berries.. slurping here too. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Tina! So happy that you stopped by. I would like to makre more ice-cream and hopefully improve along the way. Am thinking whether if I should get an ice-cream maker as an add on. Hmmm.. thinking now.. Till then. Cheers, Jo
ReplyDeleteGAH! This looks awesome! The berries, the oreos, the ice cream?! Wow...I am drooling haha
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! It's like THE perfect ice cream!
ReplyDeleteMy my my... that is just GO-DGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteWow that looks fantastic! Been looking for an ice cream recipe without the use of an ice cream maker. Thanks! :) Any tips if I only want to make a vanilla ice cream using your recipe as a base?
ReplyDeleteYou're brave! I don't take on ice cream because I would totally forget to go back and mix occasionally. The sprinkles on top make this for me! :D
ReplyDeleteA lot of work, but must have been fun! I just bought an ice cream maker. Haven't used it yet, maybe this weekend. Your ice cream looks beautiful and delicious! My kids would love to find that stashed in our freezer!
ReplyDeleteYummy Yum and very pretty too!
ReplyDeleteRavie, Ms. Adriennely, Kate@Diethood: It was really my first time making ice-cream, or maybe can consider this texture to be semi-freddo. I really had to beat it a LOT of times. LOL.. as I recalled reading somewhere the more times we beat it, the smoother the cream gets. Hugs, Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Raymond! Hmm.. for vanilla ice-cream, I would say use fresh vanilla beans-scrapping them from the pod or if not vanilla bean paste. Just omit the berries. Pretty much same process as the custard is the base of the ice-cream. Beat is as many times, the more the better.. say mayb 10x .. ;). Tell me how it goes ok? Cause it's really my first time making ice-cream and I don't have an ice-cream machine. Btw, THANKS for stopping by too. CHeers, Jo
ReplyDeleteKita & Linda: The workload was definitely worth it. I won't say that I'm brave Kita.. hehehe.. but more like a risk taker. If it flops this time, I will make it again anyhow. I want to be good at baking and cooking.. doing what I love mostly ;). Have a great weekend ahead! xoxo.
