Opera Cake & Chic & Gorgeous Treats is back!

After a long dissertation, which seemed forever; I do have a valid reason. This year 2014 had been a tough but fruitful year. Long story short, I was going through changes at work, like role changes, new team, new processes etc. So I made a really tough decision, where I decided to place my blogging on hold for a moment, while I figure out what do I do with my work-life balance. It may not necessary be a wise decision, however, throughout the months, I found what I would love to focus in the coming year 2015. I am excited that I don't think I can contain it any longer in myself.

It is quite nerve wrecking, and as I am exploring something out of my comfort zone. Through a lot of close friends support and encouragement over the months and a year ago, I have decided to work on expanding my own Chic & Gorgeous Treats as a brand. It's time that I share my home baked, packed with good flavour sweet treats with the local community. While I continue to explore the endless possibilities on what is involved, any support given is much appreciated. This would be a year 2015 goal to myself.

Moving along, we are approximately 9 weeks away to Christmas. Can you believe that? Then it's the year end again. What do you have in mind to serve this Christmas? For this Christmas, I have come up with a couple sweet treats that you could order from me to share with your family and friends.
Make sure to stay tune over this next couple of weeks.

First stop is my OPERA CAKE. This cake was baked for last year's Christmas party, and I am bringing it back for this Christmas, due to popular demand from friends. Please note that the design of the cake will change, to something chic & sleek according to this year's Christmas theme where I am currently working on the design.

What is in the cake?

Imagine..layers of joconde (an ultra light sponge cake comprise mostly of almond meal & eggs), glazed with rich coffee syrup, which has a blend of coffee liquor and dark espresso, then layered with coffee infused pastry cream, followed with another layer of rich dark chocolate ganache and then finish off the overall cake with dark chocolate glaze? The aroma of the cake is enough to make you melt, and check out those layers. This cake is simply pièce de résistance.

How do I order and how much?
Please drop me an e-mail at chicgorgeoustreats [at] gmail [dot] com for a quote where I will provide you further details.

Have a wonderful week!

xx
